He may have only played two games for the maroon and white in the top grade, but Matt Parcell is already near the top of my ‘faves’ list.
The hooker and utility back has had no problem transitioning from the Intrust Super Cup to an usual first grader in the NRL.
At the tender age of 23-years-old, Parcell has already winning a grand final with the Ipswich Jets in 2015 and played a total of eight games in the NRL, six with the Broncos and two with Manly.
He scored the winning try against his former club and the Warriors at this year’s Auckland Nines, impressing Manly fans.
Not to mention in the Intrust Super Cup finals series last year he scored a whopping five tries in one game. Coming off the bench in both games he’s played, he has already made 51 tackles and averaged roughly 50 running metres at hooker.
I presume he would be near starting with the skilful way he already has been playing. Matt Parcell is an extremely fast and extremely exciting young prospect, and a reason for Sea Eagles supporters to have hope for this week.
Don’t lose your faith! See you at Brookie!
